Providing the best for visitors!

January 31, 2010

I absolutely love preparing food for others, though it’s a rare occasion that I am actually doing just that.  I tend to feed mostly myself these days.  When preparing food for just myself, I tend to take a simple approach.  My diet consists of mostly smoothies, salads, and random pates or dips for my raw veggies! So, you can imagine my excitement when I heard my favorite taste tester, Dominic, was coming to visit for 10 whole days!  That meant ten whole days of yoga, fun, love, and great raw food!  I was excited to host my surprise guest and feed him only the best of what Goldielocks has to offer.  This post will cover a few of the meals prepared by me for my Dom!

A TACO SURPRISE!

TASTY TACOS

These taco ingredients were served on shells of cabbage or swiss chard. The numerous fillings made the tacos so scrumptious!  It all began with a sunflower seed “refried bean” pate which was packed with all the typical taco flavorings, cumin, garlic, red pepper, a little onion, garlic, and more.  These tacos also included a yummy fresh salsa, guacamole(w/ local Florida avos), sprouts, and a yummy cashew cheese sauce!

A Collaboration of Sorts

A lot of food for two hungry people!!!

This meal was packed full of yummyness!  First we have a spinach and corn chowder made with a cashew/celery base.  Along with the soup was my favorite spiralina cauliflower popcorn, a tasty salad, and a “untuna” pate!  It was all generously topped with local sprouts and a cayenne creme sauce!

PASTA TIME

Up close and personal with the White Truffle Pasta!

A special thanks to my dear friend Forrest for allowing me to borrow her spiralizer for an indefinite amount of time!  I made a pasta from zucchini, parsnip, and carrot.  With the noodles, I mixed cherry tomatoes, marinated red onion, peppers, cauliflower, and whatever else I needed to use up in the refrigerator.  The truffle sauce was made from cashews, garlic, truffle oil, celtic sea salt, fresh ground pepper, and some water.  I topped the pasta with a fresh mac nut cheese crumble!

These were the only a few of the dishes I photographed during the past week!  I love sharing the energy of raw food with all of you out there!  If you have any recipes you would specifically like to have, send me a message.  I’m collaborating a recipe book right now!  LOVE TO you all!
